FLAVOUR ORIGINS
This famous liqueur was created in 1834 by Jean-Baptiste Combier in France’s Loire Valley and is a mix of orange peels, sugar beets, pure alcohol and a dash of ‘family secret’ ingredients. Originally called “Combier Liqueur d'Orange” it is triple distilled in copper stills to enhance its flavour, which accounts for its present-day name “Triple Sec”.
Orange in flavour but colourless in appearance, the strong and sweet liqueur is enjoyed neat as a digestif or on the rocks. However, it is more typically used as an ingredient in a variety of cocktails, such as Sangria, Margarita and Long Island Iced Teas.
Mathieu Teisseire Triple Sec Syrup expertly recreates the enticing citrus aromas and sweetly satisfying orange liqueur flavour, minus the alcohol. It offers exceptional versatility and flavour to lemonades, smoothies, cocktails mocktails and sodas.
