FLAVOUR ORIGINS
The pear is a tree and shrub that bears a “pomaceous” fruit – a family of fruits of which the apple is also a member. It is native to coastal and temperate regions stretching from Western Europe to Asia, while in the present day it is mostly harvested in the Northern Hemisphere during late summer and autumn.
There are about 3000 varieties of pears which vary widely in shape and colour, while their flavours can range from tart and spicy to sweet and succulent. Despite their diversity, the subtly perfumed taste of pears is instantly recognisable, making them a popular addition to many dishes.
Mathieu Teisseire Pear Syrup expertly conveys the succulently sweet yet tart flavour of the Williams pear. With its fresh aroma and gloriously golden colour, this syrup brings life to all manner of beers, ciders, lemonades, sodas, teas, cocktails and mocktails.
