FLAVOUR ORIGINS
Melons are a family of plants that produce a sweet, fragrant fruit of the same name. Originating in Africa and West Asia, Melons were among the earliest plants to be domesticated in the Old World, while a number of native American cultures maintain a tradition of cultivating their own characteristic varieties.
The fruits are a type of berry knows as a pepo, and vary significantly in size, shape, colour and flavour. Cantaloupes are ripe when they give off a sweet fruity odour, while Honeydews and casaba are ripe when they turn yellow. Commonly enjoyed fresh and sliced, Melons are also a popular addition to salads, desserts, pickles and drinks.
Mathieu Teisseire Melon Syrup expertly captures the sweetly aromatic profile of ripe Galia melon. With its fruity fragrance and distinctive flavour, this syrup works well in sodas, lemonades, cocktails and mocktails, as well as milkshakes, frappes and smoothies, too.
