FLAVOUR ORIGINS
Formally known as Mentha, Mint is a family of plants that are widely distributed across most of the planet’s continents. The exact distinction between species is not always clear, and hybrid mints occur naturally where different species' growth ranges overlap.
The substances that give the mints their characteristic aromas and flavours are menthol (the main aroma of peppermint) and pulegone (in pennyroyal and Corsican mint). These distinctive flavours make mint a popular addition to teas, jellies, syrups and candies, while also providing an ideal accompaniment to savoury dishes.
Mathieu Teisseire Iced Mint Syrup deliciously recreates the fresh, cooling notes of peppermint, bringing a lively, long-lasting taste to coffees, chocolates, milkshakes and frappes, as well as providing a refreshing lift to cocktails, mocktails, teas and sodas.
