FLAVOUR ORIGINS
According to Greek mythology, ‘’Menthe’’ was a beautiful water nymph and lover of Hades, who was changed into a small green plant by Persephone, the wife of Hades, in an act of jealous revenge. To show mercy, Hades bestowed Menthe with a beautiful aromatic scent to last for evermore and the plant is now known as mint.
A popular flavour in France, this fresh, sweet, aromatic herb with a cool aftertaste is used widely in savoury lamb dishes, in jelly and sauces, and in sweets. It is also used in fruit desserts, ice cream and in tea.
Mathieu Teisseire Green Mint Syrup is a striking emerald green colour with the natural aromatic flavour of green mint, making it a refreshing accompaniment to cocktails, teas and delicious chocolate and coffee drinks.
