FLAVOUR ORIGINS
Anise, also called aniseed, is a flowering plant native to the eastern Mediterranean region and southwest Asia. During the Roman era it was used as a cure for sleeplessness and to aid digestion, and was even believed to prevent nightmares.
With its distinct and aromatic flavour, today anise is commonly used to flavour candies and liqueurs, and provides the liquorice like flavour of Pastis, a drink popular in southern regions of France.
Matheie Teisseire Anise Syrup expertly captures the aromatic and fragrant flavour of aniseed. This syrup works perfectly in sodas, cocktails, hot chocolates, teas and many more enticing drink creations.
