FLAVOUR ORIGINS
According to Greek legend, raspberries were originally white. Ida, the nurse of an infant Zeus, wanted to soothe his crying so pricked her finger with the raspberry thorns and the fruit turned a blood-red colour. In reality, Raspberries are a member of the Rose family, and like Roses come in a variety of colours including purple, black and yellow.
Raspberries need ample sun and water, and as such are traditionally plentiful in midsummer. They're grown for the fresh fruit market and for processing into purees and juices, or to make a variety of mouth-watering desserts such as cheesecake, ice cream and sorbet.
Mathieu Teisseire Raspberry Syrup offers the delicious flavour of freshly picked raspberries, striking the perfect balance between both tart and sweet. The exquisite red berry flavour, fragrant aroma and vibrant colour makes this syrup the perfect addition to cocktails and mocktails, sodas, smoothies, teas, milkshakes, desserts and more.
