FLAVOUR ORIGINS
The Granny Smith apple originated in New South Wales, Australia, where Maria Ann Smith had emigrated to from England in 1839. She purchased a small orchard in the area and began cultivating the apples, further enhancing the region’s reputation as a centre of excellence for fruit production.
Granny Smith apples are often referred to as simply green apples due to their light green colour. They’re enjoyed raw or as a juice, but perhaps their most popular use is in apple dishes such as pies, cobblers, crumbles and cakes.
Mathieu Teisseire Green Apple syrup delivers the zesty and crisp flavour of this mouthwatering apple, livening up sodas, mocktails and cocktails with a fresh taste and colour.
